Happy {Busy} Holidays

Sunday, December 16, 2012

This is such a busy time of year. This weekend was nice, but there doesn't seem to be enough time in each day. Do you feel the same way?

I wrapped some presents, did some cleaning, and played my horn in our church orchestra. I did some shopping, made a few crafts, and didn't go to the gym once (oops). We went to a church young-adult party on Saturday night & came home with the cute little charlie-brown tree on the left. I love it!

Our actual tree? Well. If I hadn't used this bokeh technique to take the above picture, you'd see how pathetic it is. It's actually 2/3 of a tree I found in a Village Manor storage unit. Only 1/2 of the pre-lit lights work. I added some more lights... and only 1/2 of them work. But -- this is my year! I'm getting a tree on the day after Christmas at Target or Walmart. I say that every year, but seriously. This year? It's happening.

Five more days of work & we'll head home for Christmas. It will be nice to be with family and to have a decent amount of time away from the daily grind (about a week and a half). Lots to do in the next five days, but it's all good stuff. I hope your holidays are off to a good start, too!

Isaac and I were in Target today - the Christmas trees were already marked down 30-50% off ... and there weren't many left. So you may actually want to go before Christmas. Just a thought! :)

We literally have the same exact story for our Christmas tree (other than finding it in a storage unit) and we plan to get a new one after Christmas, like we always plan to...but probably won't.

Say something...
