Last night we went to Jack Fry's. It's a famous little (it really is little!) restaurant in Louisville. After living here for five years we really had no excuse not to try it. And the occasion made the evening even better -- our annual Christmas dinner with the Eldridges.
In 2010 we started the tradition of doing something fun at Christmas time with Meg and CT. We were supposed to see The Nutcracker performed by the Louisville Ballet -- but upon arriving, we discovered that the orchestra wouldn't be accompanying their performance due to a strike. We left & asked for a ticket refund. So that evening didn't exactly go as planned. In 2011 those crazy kids treated us to a wonderful dinner at Stoney River. We had a great time. And this year was wonderful, too.
Although there's a part of me that's ready to leave this city and move on, we've really been blessed by the past five years. We've met some wonderful people. Meg and CT are easily at the top of my list of people to be thankful for. They're gracious, kind, and really fun to be around.
By the way -- it's too bad that I'm ready to leave this city, considering that we'll be here for at least four more years while Wes finishes his PhD!
