It's Amazing...

...what the lack of a camera cord can do to the frequency of your blog updates. Since we have no idea where Wes's digital camera's USB cord is, I have to take pictures and then use the memory card in his computer to upload the pictures (my computer isn't that fancy). That wouldn't be a problem except for the fact that he's in Seminary and is always using his computer or relocating it to a place where I am not.

At any rate, I suppose I have a few things to post! Not the least of which entails pictures from our recent married sleepover. As you know, power was out for several days in Louisville; thankfully, ours came back on last Friday. Our friends the Theules weren't as fortunate, so they bunked with us Friday and Saturday nights. It was a ton of fun. Don't believe me? Here's proof:

Do you enjoy the makeshift bed in the last picture? Alicia and Casey were in our room, so Wes and I decided that our sectional (two separate pieces) could be pushed together to form a somewhat-cozy bed. It beats our futon for sure - Judah (lion) loved it!

In other news, I got my package from my swap buddy, Pam! (You know, the one who alerted me to the minibox giveaway.) She was assigned to send me three or more of her favorite things, and without further ado, here's a visual of the fantastic stuff I got:

She made me pink potholders (how cool!), several homemade cards (homemade is the way to go!), and a pair of one-of-a-kind red hippo earrings (red is her favorite color and she loves hippos). I love how much time and effort she put into such crafty homemade gifts. She also sent her favorite candy in her favorite colors (pink and red starburst), her favorite gum (pink orbit - although she noted that she isn't a fan of the commercials; neither am I!), and and wonderfully sweet note on another homemade card. This swap was so much fun. If you ever have a chance to do one, you should! Not only do you receive a lot of neat things, but you make new friends. :)

In other awful horrible terrible I-can't-think-of-an-appropriately-bad-adjective news, we have cockroaches. In our kitchen.
(I wanted to put a picture here, but cockroaches are so creepy that I can't stand to look at a picture of one, nevermind put one on my blog! Imagine what happens when I encounter them face-to-face!)

The "bug man" has been to our apartment to spray and put sticky traps, but it looks like more, um, lethal(?) actions need to be taken. I purchased some bait gel, which I'm hoping will help. Apparently the cockroach will eat it, and then return to its nest - and die. (Sorry, Mr. Cockroach! ...but actually, I'm not sorry.) And then other cockroaches will eat the dead one (sick, right?), thus consuming the poison, and die. Hooray! Dead cockroaches in my kitchen... I can't wait!

But dead cockroaches in my kitchen is better than the alternative. Right?

Yikes. Clearly, you need to pray for us. I am not one to handle these types of situations well (you know, ones that involve bugs), and Wes's patience is wearing thin....

...and that's all I have for you. Oh, except to wish you a very HAPPY PUNCTUATION DAY! My favorite punctuation mark is the semicolon; what's yours?

we have ants... in the kitchen and bathroom. not as bad i guess but still gross. the traps worked where they take the bait and bring it back to whatever nest they have. I think ours are officially gone - or at least relocated to another room for now!

i love how shiny (and happy) penelope is. lol.

and i TOTALLY agree about the tattoo. i've never met somebody so passionate about the semicolon. well, i've never really met anyone else that even talked about the semicolon...

Say something...
