Ike Visits Louisville

Who knew that Hurricane Ike would come all the way to Louisville? Well, he did. And here's proof:

Crazy, right? We're currently in West Virginia enjoying some electricity and hot water. Some estimates say the power might not be back on for 12-14 days (this all happened on Sunday afternoon). It was amazing how widespread the damage was, but I think our area of Louisville (St. Matthews) got hit the hardest.

This experience has made me realize how much I take for granted (and made me much more prayerful for those who were REALLY affected by Ike - we expereinced only the fringes of his power!). I thanked God when I turned out the light last night and when I showered this morning... something I don't usually do. I need to be more thankful.

So what exactly do you do with no power? Great question. We played cards, ate crackers, and hung out with friends, this friend being my favorite:

(Even though she's teething, Penelope has been a happy baby throughout the power failure. A model for us all!)
