Before: Unfinished, nasty-looking wood.
After: Unfinished, nasty-looking wood concealed by a few coats of ivory paint.
It's not stellar, but it does look much better than it did before. I still have a few more coats to go... and then it's on to painting the hallway. :)
Painting the hallway, you ask? Well, maybe. It is something I'm pondering (a light cream color, maybe?). Thanks for all of your insight/advice. I'm keeping the light fixture for sure. Getting one I could take with me was a good idea, but I didn't realize how expensive they are... and besides, I haven't found one I really love except this one (which would look weird in the hallway). I'm probably going to start by taking down the large mirror on the left. The photos on the right might end up coming down too -- the black seems kind of harsh for a small, otherwise light hallway -- but I'm just not sure yet. Ultimately, I think it would look great with this at the end of the hall:

... But at $200, you can imagine why it's not hard to pass up (sigh). But how beautiful!
Moving on....
I went to the gym tonight, which was a small miracle (thanks, Steph, for dragging me!)... I really, truly hate exercising. I'm not even one of those people that's like, "Oh, but I feel so good at the end of a workout!" Nope, I generally don't feel good before, during, or after a workout. Sigh. Being healthy is overrated, don't you think?
Here's a shot of my husband doing what he does best:
Not talking on the phone, which he does not do well (ask me about "Phone Wes" and why we almost broke up 2048048392 times during college), but making Kool-Aid. He drinks an incredible amount of it.
Here's something else he loves doing:
Chatting with John Piper. They're BFFs, you know.
Anndd... that's all I've got for you. TG(tomorrow's)F!

Beth, do you have IKEA down there? They often have tons of mirrors in different shapes which are super cheap (because they're made of unfinished wood), and good for "projects" - I bet you could get a mirror similar to the one you linked to and make something like that yourself. If you're feeling crafty, that is!
Par example:

BETH!
Hannah and I have an apartment! I don't know the name of the place, but its rented by an older lady who owns the building outright, so she just lives off the rent every month...and it's SUPER cheap! Hannah almost signed a lease there (in the exact same apartment) about a month or so ago but her roommate fell through at the last minute. She knows the guys that live there, and they WERE going to be out by June, which means it would have been gone already, but something happened and they had to stay another month which is GREAT because we didn't want it until June anyway!!!!
WOOHOO!!!!
It's near University Park Apartments or something like that and it's about 5 miles away from SBTS.
ALSO, I did'nt get your voicemail about apartments from Sunday until YESTERDAY! Thanks Alltel, you're a GREAT cell service these days...*blink blink*
I miss yoU!

We have the same water pitcher. Good choice.
Thanks for catering to me with the picture you chose on this one. It made me feel special. :)
