Today is the birthday of one of my very best friends, Mrs. Jessi Schwertfeger!
Jessi and her husband Jacob (and their toddler, Sunda!) are working with Overland Missions in Africa. You can check out their blog here -- they're really amazing people. I wish I could be with Jessi today to help her celebrate her birthday, but since I can't (and a package wouldn't get to Africa for a loooong time), I thought I'd dedicate a blog entry to letting Jessi know just a few things I wish we could do today:
*Eat not just any birthday cake -- Dairy Queen ice cream cake, of course! (Actually, that might be my favorite... not hers. Oops!)
*Celebrate at Jenn's house with lots of balloons that Phoenix (and now Kipper!) could attack.
*Go get birthday pedicures.
*Watch an episode of SVU. (Jessi, I think you would love Mariska Hargitay as much as I do!)
*Have dinner with a bunch of friends!
...But Jess, since we can't hang out and do all of those things, I'll trust that spending your birthday with your husband and little girl will suffice ;)
I miss you like crazy, and I hope you have a wonderful birthday!
