Go ahead. Guess how much I spent.

Guess!

Okay, I'll tell you.

$1.88

{Well, that's not entirely true. I did use $7.99 in ECBs. I wasn't paying attention, and they expired on Saturday. Whoops! The store graciously took them anyway. [That's the whole reason I made this trip -- I didn't want to be a money trasher]. I didn't get any ECBs back, so I guess I spent $9.87. But that doesn't sound nearly as awesome as $1.88, does it?}

The actual retail price {said in a perfect Bob Barker voice}? $39.57

So $9.87? I guess I'm okay with that. :)

...actually? I'm not okay with that. And that's how you know, if you didn't already, that I'm a crazy couponer!

CVS hasn't excited me recently, so I haven't been in a while {plus, I was away with Grammy}. My ECBs were going to expire tonight, though, so I was forced to go after work. I wasn't thrilled when I left the house -- I couldn't really find any good deals, and I had $17.99 in ECBs to renew, which is a lot!

Here's what I got:

2 bottles of Herbal Essences shampoo
3 bottles of Revlon nail polish
1 package of flavor-changing Stride gum {flavor-changing gum? should be interesting!}
2 individual packages of Crystal Light
1 CVS green bag tag*

*If you bring your own bag & have one of these tags, they'll scan it when you check out. You get a $1 ECB back every fourth time you use it. It's fantastic! I already have one, so I'm going to give this one away (I had a coupon to get it for free -- they're typically $0.99 each).

I spent $0.81 in cash (tax)
I used $17.99 in ECBs
I got back $14.99 in ECBs

So technically I lost $3 in ECBs, but I'm okay with that. I think I did pretty well for a last-minute trip!

I'm curious -- do these posts inspire you to try your hand at couponing, or do you think I'm crazy? Is it boring or interesting? Do tell!

I got a great deal at CVS tonight, and I didn't even have to try very hard! Check it:

4 Airwick Freshmatic Starter Kits (two are hidden)
2 Packages of Gummy Bears
1 Diet Cherry Coke Zero
1 Blink Tears Drops

I spent $3.56, $1.90 of which was tax (you can't use ECBs toward tax)
I used $10 in ECBs
I received back $17.99 in ECBs

I'm seriously pleased with this trip. I increased my ECBs by $7.99, which is huge! And I only got the gummy bears & diet cherry coke because -- well, it's hard to explain. I basically needed to increase my pre-tax total.

Incidentally, the gummy bears were an upsell item that helped my cashier out. Her name is Jaz, and she is SO nice. I needed to spend a little bit more, it helped her out, and Wes loves gummy bears. But he doesn't need two packages, so I gave one to our neighbors. Winning all around, wouldn't you say? :)

I love CVS!

I haven't posted any coupon deals in a while, but I'm still going strong. I found a new CVS store on Lime Kiln Lane that is fabulous! The store is relatively new, big, and clean -- and the employees are so, so friendly. It's a dream come true for this couponer. :) I have to drive past two CVS stores to get to it, but it's so worth it!

Here's my loot for the night, not including another Diet Coke 12-pack (it's still in the car).

I got everything pictured (and that extra 12-pack) for $2.75. I used $11 ECBs going into it and I came out with $12.79 ECBs. Nice!
