New Table! New Chairs?

Sunday, June 9, 2013

I did it -- I finally bought a new dining room table! This isn't a picture of mine; it's a six-foot table and mine is just four feet. I would take a picture of mine, but I'm lazy. Sorry! So this is a picture of someone else's James+James custom table that is basically identical to mine (the picture is from the J+J facebook page):

I really am struggling with what chairs to buy, which is sad, because I want to start enjoying this table asap! Here are a few options I'm considering:
Chair One: $80 each
Chair Two: $120 each
Chair Three: $86 each
Chair Four: $55 each

::I think chair two may be my favorite, but it's also the most expensive. :(

::Chair four has strange arms that I don't think will fit under the table, so it's probably my least favorite because of that fact.

::Chair one is like chair four but without the strange arms. :)

::Chair three is a knockoff of a classic design icon, and part of me thinks I shouldn't buy a knockoff. But then again, I don't think I'm very consistent in this line of thinking. For instance, I have no problem buying things from Target's Threshold line, many of which are designer knockoffs. Do you have thoughts on this? [Daniel from Manhattan Nest has written a good post about this issue if you're interested, and the comments are thoughtful as well. I just still don't know what I think!]

Ok... that's all I've got for right now. I'd love your opinion if you have one, so leave it in the comments, pretty please. I'm also open to other suggestions!

I LOVE the table- seriously, so beautiful! And I vote chair one or two, but I think one is my favorite, though two may be more comfortable? Back to the table, did i mention that i LOVE it? :)

I'm excited for your table! I don't mind the knock-off at all. I like both the white ones you show here and I think deep down you want a white chair. $160 more total is worth you being truly happy with it and not settling for second best. ;)

I think Chair 2 is most kid friendly. :)
