Thunder

Thunder over Louisville was last weekend -- which, if you don't know, is the {big} precursor to the Kentucky Derby... the opening ceremonies, if you will. And it includes the largest annual fireworks display in North America.

I don't play with my DSLR much, but I really should. I snapped this shot on Saturday night, which isn't too bad for a novice, I don't think. It's perhaps the only shot I've ever taken in manuel mode!

Tomorrow I'm heading to New York City for a girls' weekend with my MIL and SIL. It was a Christmas present, and the trip includes tickets to The Lion King! I'm so excited. My next post will be from the city!
