Anyway, I was up way too early on my day off and spent a while checking out what people did for Bower Power's Pinterest Challenge -- which I love the idea of, by the way. We all adore Pinterest, and we all plan to do so many things we see on there... but we never do them! {At least I don't. If you do, I wish you'd encourage me to stop pinning & start doing!}
So I stumbled upon Decorchick's blog this morning, which I added to my Google Reader against my better judgment. {Don't get me wrong -- she's great, and I love her blog... I just read WAY too many blogs already!} This isn't something I can do now, but in the future? Oh yes.
I love the board & batten, and I love the large gallery wall... don't you?!
But please note: if I ever do this (fingers crossed that I actually follow through someday), I will not ask Wes to help me. Our marriage cannot survive many more "please put this together" or "please help me hang this" moments. I will pay someone if I have to... I just think it's worth it. :) Just keepin' it real... and doing my part to keep the divorce rate down in America.
Also note: I am jealous that Sherry has John (over at Young House Love) as a happy helper for so many great projects! {And I love their gallery wall as well.}
Do tell: did you stumble upon anything particularly inspiring from the Pinterest Challenge? If so, please share! I'm always looking for more blogs to read/DIY projects to pretend I'm going to do someday....

If I were to take the Pinterest Challenge, I would probably go for something like this:

We have four ceiling fans in the house, and while I would like to do away with them, my darling husband is all about the air flow in the house and has put his foot down. They are staying. So I would love to do something like this. I would want something more tonal, but I think I like the chevron (even though I'm not usually a huge fan).
But sadly, I can't yet. We haven't even painted our walls, so tackling the ceiling fans would just be silly. But someday!
Ok, so I was just about to say that I don't really like the whole "let's try to make the ceiling fan look better" thing -- because there's really just no way to make ceiling fans look better -- but then I read the rest of your post.
Our dear husbands put up with so much. When they put their foot down... it's hard to argue. Sigh.
And you know a love a good chevron... always!
Maybe when I come to visit (it WILL happen someday, you know!), we could tackle a fan or two together! Or paint a wall... whatever works. :)
I hate to admit it, but I actually kind of agree with Isaac on the fans - this winter, we made lots of fires to keep our electric bill down, and the ceiling fan did a great job of circulating the heat around. And the one in our entry (that's in between the two floors) keeps the upstairs and downstairs temps regulated. Yeah, they're ugly - but definitely functional.
Also, you should visit soon. Like tomorrow. Tomorrow would be good.
Say something...
