I designated some of my family cloth for eye-makeup removal. This eliminates my need for cotton balls. As you can see, I can use one cloth several times...
...and then I can flip it over and use it some more.
When I'm done, I spray some stain remover on them and throw them in the wash. Easy peasy.

i think the "greenest" thing we do is to use cloth diapers...now you've got me thinking about what else we can do! :)
