I can't find a picture of the square mirrors (painted white) I had hanging above my dining room table before, but they'd been hanging there for a long time. I decided it was time for a change. Like maybe a plate display?
I lived with paper outlines taped to the wall for 2 weeks while I procrastinated actually hanging the plates made sure I liked the arrangement.

Then I hung them. And straightened. And re-nailed. And straightened.
And then they were perfect.
[Thanks to Alicia for taking the pictures... but from now on, I'm not going to credit her; just assume that if it's an awesome picture, there's no way I took it. :)]
Oh, and want to know my next Home Improvement project? You're looking at it: I'm dying to stain my dining room suite darker and recover the chairs. But that's going to have to wait until I recover from all of my current projects. Maybe next spring!

so glad you posted this! they look GREAT!
LOVE your plates! I've been waiting to hang my own for so long because I didn't want the arrangement to look funny...but your idea to put paper outlines up is perfect! You've inspired me! :)
LOVE it!! Not sure if you hung them with plate racks, but i've found a really inexpensive way to hang plates....use paperclips and this great stuff called GOOP- you can't even tell that there is anything that is helping them hang!! My mom uses it and so i have adopted her method :) So if you ever have to do it again and want to know more, let me know!
