Now just keep in mind -- Kirstin and I are old pros at striping. Not only did she help me stripe my newly-renovated (but-still-in-the-process-so-no-I-won't-post-pictures-yet) bedroom wall, but we also striped her bedroom wall and it looks fabulous! (Wish I had a picture to show you!) But last night... well, we just couldn't get back on the wagon.

We made it three stripes down... and each stripe was a different width. (That, by the way, is a bad thing.) That's after we fought with the painter's tape FOREVER to get it to stick to my lovely plaster walls. That's after I moved the laser lever a zillion times while K patiently waited for me to get my act together. That's after we confirmed, after each stripe, that we had measured the previous one correctly. Ahem.
So what did we do?
We gave up and sat on the couch instead.
But Friday she's coming back over. Friday, we are going to show that wall that we mean business. I'm looking forward to the end result... will it look as good on the wall as it does in my mind? (What I'm really wondering is: will you even be able to tell we did it?)
Pictures to follow. :)

Beth,
Fun idea. I'm actually going to make stripes in my bedroom at home. We are going to take advantage of the paneling in the room and use it to make verticle stripes. We found this shimmery paint that is like a metallic finish or something and we are going to alternate it with a satin paint that is the same color but without the metallic sheen. I think its going to be really cool. Its going to be a dark teal color. Everything else in the room is going to be white. (the bedding already is and then we'll just get some white gauzy curtains.) I'm excited to update. Funny that we had the same idea. Although the metallic paint is kind of pricey so we are going to paint all the walls with the normal paint and then paint every other panel with the metallic. So that will save metallic paint because we won't need a second coat and it will also save on taping. We'll only have to tape off for the metallic paint. Momma is such a smart lady, huh?
