Why yes, I know I'm crazy. Why do you ask?

Ok. I am not kidding this time. I think I am selling the furniture.

Look at that beauty above. It's only $150 from Ikea!

Or there's always this option. Do you have a preference? The picture above is slightly more modern than I usually go. Like the Nichole Nordeman song, it "makes me wanna be brave...."

I know, I know. I keep stringing you along, saying I'm going to paint my furniture and never doing it. I'm terrible. Can you love me anyway? I primed the headboard tonight (which I am keeping regardless) and I think I realized just how much work it's going to be.

I might just list it on craigslist while I work on the headboard. You know, just to see what happens. No harm done, right?

Right?

Hey Beth!
If you're hoping for furniture that's going to last a while, I would hold out for something other than IKEA. Don't get me wrong; I LOVE IKEA, but I also know their cheaper furniture is of pretty low quality. Maybe you could enlist your friends in a refinishing party and pay them with pizza? Projects are so much more fun with a bunch of helpers!

That was a horribly-placed semicolon. Can I blame it on my mono?

I completely agree with the above poster. As a victim lately of several cheap furniture purchases, you REALLY have to be careful what you buy or you'll just end up buying something overpriced that you'll have to replace in a couple years. In the end it will have cost the same amount as a quality piece of furniture. What is your furniture now made of? Is it solid wood, or is it manufacture wood that's coated and finished? If it is solid wood...DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT sell it! Or, if you do, sell it to me! That furniture will last you the rest of your marriage. Ikea will last you a year.

Say something...
