-I may have bitten off more than I can chew with home improvement projects as of late. Currently I have a dresser, chest of drawers, and headboard that need to be painted. I also have three walls on which I'm changing decorations and two walls on which I'm going to paint horizontal stripes. (See here for inspiration.) "After" pictures are in order... if I ever get everything completed. :)
-Speaking of painting that furniture, I am reallllyyy thinking of using this instead of sanding/stripping. What do you think??
-I am really loving all things linen right now. Gray linen especially. Mmmm.
-Last night I re-watched some episodes of The West Wing, including The Stackhouse Filibuster, which is one of my favorites. Before watching it, I didn't know what a filibuster was. Now I do. Plus, there are some really great quotes, including this one by President Bartlet:
Don't ever, ever underestimate the will of a grandfather. We're mad men. We don't give a damn. We got here before you and they'll be here after. We'll make enemies, we'll break laws, we'll break bones, but you will not mess with the grandchildren.
I know my grandfather loved me that fiercely, and I am so grateful. Plus, let's be honest: I love President Bartlet, and I would totally vote Democrat for him!
-I really like this bed.
-Speaking of beds, I still really like this duvet cover, but I can't bring myself to buy it. $195 (on sale, after tax) for a duvet cover? I can't do it. I'm too cheap. Now. There is a gray/white one in the 2010 IKEA catalog for $20. Which leads me to my next point:
-I think I'm going to IKEA this weekend with Kim and Stephanie. And then I am going to see cute furniture and wish I hadn't decided to paint mine. ;) Hopefully I will love the gray/white duvet. Or at least like it. It's only $20, for crying out loud!
-I am searching for the perfect black cardigan and I can't find it. Help?
-Ok, so remember that "change in my daily routine" I mentioned a few posts ago? Well, starting next week, Lord willing, I will work four days a week instead of five. M&W 8-4 and T&R 8-6. I am so thankful. 36 hours/week instead of 44. I hope the long weekend (every weekend!!) will help with feeling overwhelmed and like I don't have time for things. I'll keep you posted!
-I adore AT Loft's fall line. You should take a peek the next time you're at the mall.
-Speaking of the mall. I don't know how you feel about Victoria's Secret, but my opinion is this: they send me lots of free underwear coupons. I love it. I walk in, get the free underwear, and walk out. I think I have 15 pairs of soft, cotton underwear from VS. 15 free pairs. Yes, please.
-Tonight Wes got his hair cut and didn't really complain. That, my friends, is a blessing straight from the Lord. Oh yes. I am thankful!
-I am thinking about buying a few CDs on iTunes. Like this one (they go to my church!). And this one.
-The other night I bought a scratch-off lottery ticket and won $4! Note that I am not blogging about the past two times I have bought them and not won.
-I was just going through my blog roll and was surprised by this post by my dear friend Beth. How sweet is she? Thanks for the shout out, friend! :)
I think that's enough for tonight. Maybe I should blog more often?
