Talbot's Satin Trench: Yes, Please!

I have blogged three times today. Please contain your excitement.

I can't contain mine; I have to share. Last night I went to a Seminary Orchestra concert (a phenomenal performance, by the way!) with my friend Rose. Rose is the wife of one of my favorite professors ever (and the orchestra conductor), Dr. Douglas Smith. Now Rose is just a teensy bit older than me... but she's way more trendy than I am. In fact, I think we're friends because I told her on the first day I met her, "Rose... if I age HALF as well as you have, I will be a lucky girl!" She is beautiful, and always dresses very fashionably. Last night was no exception; she picked me up in cute jewelry, black heels... and the most beautiful coat:

What you can't see from that picture is that it's lined with beautiful bright pink satin. Oh yes, friends. Bright. Pink.

I asked her where she got it, and she said it was from Talbots and she recently got it on sale. Praises! As soon as I got home from the concert I searched for the coat online -- but with no avail. I was frustrated, but not deterred. (As a side note, that sentence made me think of this passage.) This morning, I called a Talbots store in Louisville (the only one, I think). They were sold out (!). BUT the kind salesperson located two stores in the US that might still have some in my size: Wisconsin and North Dakota.

I tried ND first -- sweet success! They had the coat in a petite small AND medium -- and with a flat $6 shipping rate, I had no other choice than to buy both with a plan to take back the one that doesn't fit. And the best part is that they were only $79 (originally $199)!

Just had to share. :)
