But wait! Hope enters the horizon. At Zach and Allison's wedding, Beth notices the bridesmaids' shoes -- they're THE SAME SHOES SHE BOUGHT SO LONG AGO, and they're pink! What could be better? She immediately looks at the label on the shoe: Steve Madden. She realizes that she'll end up paying 3x what she paid originally for the shoes (hers were not a designer brand), but she doesn't care. That very evening, she logs on to SteveMadden.com, only to find that they only carry a 6.5 and a 9 in the shoes. She live chats with a sales representative to find out that no, they don't have any size 7s - and not only that, but that particular style is being discontinued. OH NO!!! Hope vanishes from the horizon. She spends an hour online googling the shoe with no avail. Even FamousFootwear.com (the place the bridesmaids got their shoes) only offers at 6.5 and a 9. Beth considers trying to wedge her foot into a 6.5, but decides against it. She goes to bed dejectedly.
However, the story doesn't end there! God knows how much Beth wants the shoes, so on Thursday evening, weeks after the wedding, He urges her to go to FamousFootwear.com one last time before she goes to bed. Lo and behold, more sizes are offered! A 7 is available! Beth can hardly believe her eyes. She gleefully enters her credit card number and looks at the total. $49.99. Free shipping, and actually $10 off the original price ($60 for strappy dress shoes??), but she thinks twice about spending that much money on a pair of shoes. Using the last bit of energy left from her day, she googles "Famous Footwear coupon code," and finds a code for 20% off. It works! Her favorite shoes for $40! (Still expensive, but worth it in her mind.) How glorious. She wants to buy the pink ones, too (they're a steal at $29.99), but they don't have her size. (TODAY they don't. She will keep looking!)
