Happy Ending

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Beth. She bought a pair of shoes that she absolutely loved - black strappy dress shoes. Fast forward several years: Beth still wears her favorite black strappy dress shoes. The only problem is - they're falling apart. The soles are coming off, the glue is coming undone, etc. Beth tries in vain to find the shoes again... looks far and wide at stores, on the internet, etc. As time passes, Beth realizes that necessity will soon demand she buy another pair of black dress shoes... even if she can't find the same ones.

But wait! Hope enters the horizon. At Zach and Allison's wedding, Beth notices the bridesmaids' shoes -- they're THE SAME SHOES SHE BOUGHT SO LONG AGO, and they're pink! What could be better? She immediately looks at the label on the shoe: Steve Madden. She realizes that she'll end up paying 3x what she paid originally for the shoes (hers were not a designer brand), but she doesn't care. She live chats with a sales representative to find out that no, they don't have any size 7s - and not only that, but that particular style is being discontinued. OH NO!!! (Still expensive, but worth it in her mind.) How glorious. She wants to buy the pink ones, too (they're a steal at $29.99), but they don't have her size. (TODAY they don't. She will keep looking!)
