That's right -- you end up blogging at 5 a.m. I'm sitting in my living room sipping a diet coke, a load of laundry already underway (hope the neighbors don't mind!), listening to Natasha Bedingfield and staring at the mess that is my living room. Sorry about that last run-on; I just wanted to fit everything in.
We got home from Charleston last night. It's bittersweet... nice to be back in a routine, but I'm already missing family, friends and the freedom of not having to work. I suggested to Wes last night that we should consider having children NOW. He accused me of wanting to quit my job. Can you believe him?? :) I know -- I'd be bored after a few weeks. (But what a few glorious weeks those would be!)
[My playlist has moved on to Madonna and J. Timberlake. Their latest collaboration with Timberland is catchy!]
This picture displays my favorite part of being away from home:
SO MUCH LAUNDRY (and general mess). By 5:12 a.m. the following morning I'm pleased that I have it somewhat tamed:
I also re-framed those two pictures hanging on the wall last night. (Warning: boring decor rant!) It's kind of hard to tell on the right, but there's a bookshelf that sits back in the corner. The picture on the right is centered between the doorframe and the bookshelf. I hung the picture on the left (yes, all by myself!) to be the same distance from the doorframe as the one on the right to create the illusion of symmetry, but the picture on the left isn't centered in the wall. It kind of bothers me, but I think since it's an equal distance away from the door frame, it plays a trick on the eye and makes things appear symmetrical (not if you stare at it, but hopefully I'm the only one who will do that). Ok -- I'm rambling. It's 5 a.m; please forgive. This is what the frame looked like before and after (yes, they're different pictures). Much better, no?
Here's another favorite part of coming home: unloading the car and realizing that your FIL is convinced you're starving.
Wes: What are we having for dinner tonight, little wife?
Beth: Baked beans, green beans and corn. Forever.
FIL, if you're reading this, we're very appreciative. :) We just aren't sure where we're going to put it all....
Ok, before I go do something with my life (really, though... it's 5:45 a.m... I don't have many options), here's two more pictures for you from when Sean Keefe and Tyler came to visit (separate times, mind you). First up -- derby pie with SCK:
And general fun with the Ty-guy:
Have I mentioned how much I love having friends visit? Who's next? :)
Ok -- I'm out. Thanks for humoring me and my first (and hopefully last!) 5 a.m. post!
