I thought I'd update with some pictures. Speaking of snow...
There are tons of little snowmen living all around the Village Manor. I'm not one for snowball fights, but the kids are having a blast! It's pretty cute.
There's the snow-covered entrance sign to our apartment complex. It's a little dirty... they should work on that.
I tried to get Wesley to smile for a picture, and this is what I get. His creepy "snarl." What is a wife to do?
This is the view from inside my car after some of the snow was brushed off the windshield. I thought it was kind of neat.
Here is a shot of my loving husband scraping my car off while I sit inside and let the heater run. Yes, my friends, this is the best part of being married!!! :) [Ok, so there are parts that are way better... but this is definitely a plus.]
Here's a blurry night shot of the outside of our apartment. We're H8 -- like "hate." Good times!
Other than that pictoral review, I don't have much else
This is the first weekend in a while that has actually felt like a weekend -- and I'm not sure why. My Saturday morning Bible study was cancelled yesterday due to the weather, and Wes only worked from 6-11 a.m. (as opposed to his typical 8-5 Saturday shift -- nice!). We hung around the house most of the day and ventured out last night to find some mexican food. Then we went to Blockbuster and rented American Gangster. It was ok, but kind of slow-moving. I fell asleep several times (shocking, I know -- but it was past 10 p.m!). I would recommend Michael Clayton above American Gangster in a heartbeat -- we watched the former with our friends Jenny and Michael on Friday night and I thoroughly enjoyed it. One review called it a "different kind of thriller," and I'll agree with that. It moves at a slower pace than most and features more talk than action. But it's a rewarding film, and well-produced. Rated R for language and sexual dialogue (but we found the film to be worth it). Another movie I'd highly recommend is Atonement. I saw it in theatres a while back and loved it. It's incredibly real and artistically produced... and its theme is quite poignant. Go watch a movie! :)

...but before you do, let me finish today's post by telling you a random story about mexican food. We're trying to find somewhere that's better than (or comparable to) Ruben's, my favorite little mexican place in Indiana. Granted, it's only 15 or 20 minutes away -- but that's still a long way to drive at $3.20-something a gallon. Plus, we didn't want to risk the bridge in the snow and ice last night. So we tried Los Aztecas on Taylorsville -- it was ok, but not that great. Wes always made fun of me for liking Ruben's so much ("Beth, it's just like every other mexican restaurant!") but I think last night made him realize that it is indeed better than your average mexican restaurant.

Speaking of food, I'll leave you with my latest success in domesticity:
Love you all. Happy Sunday!

yea for snow! boo for melting which = flooding.
we've been to ruben's and loved it, we'll have to try your new place...
your dinner looked deeeelish! :)
I LOVED Atonement!!!!
and I love you!
w00t!
thoughts:
1) wes' snarl face is scary
2) ruben's is so good. we haven't been there since that one time we all went a long time ago. and i agree, it's the best mexican food we've had since moving here.
3) i must agree with you about this weekend being different. case and i have agreed that it almost felt like a vacation, and we're not sure what was different.
4) i'm determined to go to the movies. there are a few on my list-- did you see juno?
that's all for now.
:o)
**please note**
i just re-read my comment, and noticed that i used some form of AGREE three times. apparently i'm feeling very agreeable.
perhaps i should've edited that one before i hit PUBLISH.
I love wes' snarl face! Brent and I walked into wendy's friday night (i know how romantic for a date night but we were going skiing with his company and just wanted to get to the ski lodge before it got too late!) but anyways we walked in and thought wes was sitting there! only when we got close it was wes as a 50 year old man. Your husband will still look just as great in 30+years!
For those of you who hate ending sentences in prepositions: it's a stupid rule for English. It comes from Latin - and in Latin, sentences that end in prepositions do not make sense. They do in English ... so let's use them!
Oh, and Beth ... always great to get the updates. :) And thanks for the movie critiques; we're having a movie night tomorrow, and none of us could think of a movie. You're the best!
Say something...
