Sorry for the temporary hiatus; two of my beloved friends got married this weekend. Arian and Lindsey Hakim are enjoying being newlyweds in the Bahamas; I'm in Charleston, WV, updating my blog. Easy to see who got the better end of the deal! :) The wedding was beautiful -- a joyous celebration, indeed. Congratulations, friends -- I love you both so much!
In other news, I thought you might find it funny to see just how different men and women can be -- or, at least, how different my husband and I are. Here's a small demonstration on how a husband and wife pack toiletries for a week away from home:
His:
-deodorant
-toothbrush
-razor
-shaving cream
Hers (in no particular order):
-deodorant
-toothbrush
-razor
-shaving cream
-floss
-toothpaste
-contact solution
-contacts
-eye makeup remover
-face makeup remover
-face wash (2 kinds)
-clarifying lotion
-acne medicine
-cough drops
-shampoo (2 kinds)
-birth control
-brush
-spray-on hair conditioner
-perfume
-lotion
-cold medicine
(I think I got everything.)
Good times, yes? :)
That's all I have for you... there's some watermelon calling my name in the kitchen. If I don't hurry, I'll lose my chance!
Hooray for weddings, husbands who pack too little (wives who pack too much?) and long weekends in Charleston!
Beth,
ReplyDeleteI hear ya on the male vs female packing issue... women are just prepared and men just hope for the best. Tim and I are in the midst of packing for 6 weeks and it's a scream to see just how different our packing priorities are. But I fear, no matter how long you are married, this will not change for the better. It will only get worse once children come along.
Hope you are having a happy-long-weekend-away!

Beth,
ReplyDeleteThat packing thing was hilarious. Wes has it figured out - bare essentials. I like how he packed toothbrush but no toothpaste. I also enjoyed the small sandwich bags that were too small for any of his items.
Wes - you at least have to go with some freezer bags!
Beth-
ReplyDeleteAfter being Bethany's maid of honor, I am ALL about wedding planning as a job! I seriously said to Bryan, "I could be a wedding planner or coordinator or something like that and NOT wait tables!"
We should start a business ;)
I miss you!
Beth,
ReplyDeleteLet me state that even though Wes didn't pack those items, he sure used them.
-Toothpaste (what good is a tooth brush without toothpaste)
-brush (we'll pretend he brushes his hair)
-face wash (please Wes your clear skin comes from somewhere)
-shampoo (one was probably for him in the first place)
-my personal favorite: birth control, if you didn't remember it, he probably would ;)
love!
